Corrections policy

When we get something wrong, we say so — visibly, with a timestamp, and without quietly rewriting history.

How corrections work

Every article is versioned. Previous versions are preserved, and each published change is listed in the article’s update log with its time and a description of what changed.

  • A correction fixes an error of fact. It is published as a new version, marked “Corrected”, and listed below.
  • An update adds new information (for example, new sources or a change in a claim’s verification status) and is listed in the article’s update log.
  • Corrections always require approval by a human editor.
  • We never delete published versions or audit records; our audit log is append-only.

Reporting an error

If you believe an article contains an error, contact the editors with the article link and the evidence. We review every report against the cited sources.
